Haydee Baker

Haydee was born in Johannesburg and began ballet at the age of 2½ with Jeanne Ewan. She later studied with Joan Kilfoil, Sandra Carstens and Ethné Ferraris. Whilst a student at the National School of the Arts she performed with the Johannesburg Youth Ballet and also performed with the Bonegio Spanish Dance Company on a regular basis. After matriculation she attended the Pretoria Technikon where she achieved her National Diploma in Dance.
In 1997, Haydee was a semi – finalist in the Sanlam International Ballet Competition and joined PACT Ballet Corps de Ballet. She was later promoted to the Senior Corps de Ballet.
Her roles included Cygnets, Pas de Trois and Spanish in SwanLake, Mirletons and Chinese in The Nutcracker, Friends, Fairy of the Songbirds, Fairy of the golden Vine and Pas de Quatre in The Sleeping Beauty and Coppélia and Spring and Autumn Fairies in Cinderella.
After the closure of the State Theatre in June 2000 Haydee left for the U.S.A and Canada where she performed in a season of The Nutcracker with the Albano Ballet in Hartford, Connecticut – her roles for the company included the Porcelain Doll, Snow Queen and Mirletons.
Upon her return to South Africa in July 2001 she joined the South African Ballet Theatre as a Soloist where her roles for the company have included the Peasant Pas de Deux and Moyna in Giselle, Snow Crystals, Rat Queen, Chinese, Mirleton, Spanish Harlequin and Columbine Puppets in The Nutcracker, Lead Sylph in La Sylphide, Pas de Six in La Traviata, Pas de Quatre in Kopano, Golden Vine Fairy, Garland Dance and Friends in The Sleeping Beauty, Pas de Cinq in Papillon, Dawn and Friends in Coppélia and Snow Crystals and Rat Queen, Chinese, Mirletons and Spanish in The Nutcracker. She has also danced in the SABT’s collaboration with The Royal Danish Ballet of Napoli Act 111, Troubadour in Romeo & Juliet, Five Ladies in Who Cares?, Hamlet and Rock – a Tutu and Triple Bill seasons.
In 2007, Haydee was invited to guest with The Israel Ballet where she spent two months performing soloist roles in ballets such as Giselle and Cinderella.
She has since appeared in The SA Ballet Theatre’s seasons of Ballet Highlights, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, Rock-a-Tutu, The Sleeping Beauty, La Traviata, Arts Alive, Valentine’s Enchantment andAutumn Enchantment.
In December 2007 she appeared in the televised Swan Lake on SABC and in April 2009 travelled to Cape Town to perform in Veronica Paeper’s Cinderella with The Cape Town City Ballet. In December 2009, she performed in 81 performances of Janice Honeyman’s popular pantomime Pinocchio.
In August 2010, Haydee performed in Veronica Paeper’s Carmen–the Ballet in various roles including Cigarette Ladies and Flamenco Ladies. She the toured with SABT to George and Knysna performing various excerpts from the repertoire including Cygnets (“Swan Lake’) and Shadows (‘La Bayadére’).
2011 saw her perform in ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘The Sleeping Beauty’.

Lauren Dixon-Seager

Lauren Dixon-Seager started ballet at the age of 6 and was taught by Sandra Carstens, Jean Kifoil and Ethne Ferraris. She joined PACT Ballet in June 1997 and was promoted to Senior Corps de Ballet in April 2000. After the closure of the State Theatre, Lauren performed in numerous corporate promotions. She was part of the company that regrouped to perform the Beukes / Malan / MacDonald 'Nutcracker' in December 2000 and went on to become part of the newly formed South African Ballet Theatre.
Lauren was promoted to Soloist with The South African Ballet Theatre and her roles for the company have included Pasquita in 'Carmen', Swanhilda, Friends, Betrothal and Innkeeper’s Daughter in ‘Coppelia’, the Pas de Trois, Big Swans, Cygnets, the Lead Spanish Lady and Lead Czardas Lady in 'Swan Lake', Mama, Arabian, Snow Crystals, Lead Flower, Spanish Dance and the Arabian in 'The Nutcracker', the Fairy of the Woodland Glade and Pas de Quatre in 'Sleeping Beauty', 'Napoli Act III' in collaboration with The Royal Danish Ballet, Hamza and the Pas de Cinq in 'Papillon', Bathilde and Moyna in 'Giselle', Five Ladies in 'Who Cares', the Principal Couple in 'Schlager', the Solo in 'Kopano' and Princess Rose, Chloe Queen of Denial and Granny Wanda in 'Rock-a-Tutu'. She has also performed the Pas de Six and Friends role in ‘La Traviata’, the Spring and Winter Fairies in ‘Cinderella’ and Cleo, Queen of Denial and Granny Wanda in ‘Rock-a-Tutu’, Waltz and Miseries in ‘Les Sylphides’ and Kitri’s Friend and Lead Dryad in ‘Don Quixote’.
Lauren was responsible for training and coordinating the children from Bloemfontein, East London, Port Elizabeth and Kimberley who were involved in SABT's 2005 Nutcracker tour.
In 2006, Lauren was the recipient of the Madge Cade Award and was appointed SABT Ballet Mistress to the SABT in October.
Lauren appeared in the televised broadcast of ‘Swan Lake’ in the role of Big Swan in December 2007.
As a member of the Company’s Artistic Team, Lauren has assisted with the producing of ‘Romeo + Juliet’, ‘La Traviata’, ‘Swan Lake’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Rock-a-Tutu’ ‘ The Nutcracker’, ‘Don Quixote’, ‘Autumn Enchantment, ‘Valentine Enchantment’ ‘Coppélia’ and other shorter works for corporate events and festivals.
On September 2nd 2009 she gave birth to her first child a baby girl Kora Slade.
In 2010, she produced, along with the SABT Artistic Team, ‘Swan Lake’ and was the Répétiteur for Veronica Paeper’s ‘Carmen-the Ballet’, both at the Joburg Theatre.
In 2011 she made her debut as Carabosse in ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Sanmarie Kreuzhuber

Sanmarie started dancing at age three, training with Marna Bolt, Paula Olivier, Rene Callis and Liza Fekete. In 200, she attended Hoërskool Waterkloof’s Dance Academy and began contemporary dance classes with Kelsey Middleton.
In 2004, she won the prestigious Adeline Geneè Silver Trophy at the South African competition and participated in the International Adeline Geneè competition in Athens, Greece.
Sanmarie joined the SA Ballet Theatre in 2005 as part of the Graduate Programme and performed in the Potchefstroom Youth Ballet’s production of Cinderella dancing the principal role as well as The Fairy Godmother.
In January 2006, Sanmarie was accepted into the SA Ballet Theatre’s Corps de Ballet. In that same year she performed both the principal role and that of The Fairy Godmother in the Roodepoort Youth Ballet’s Cinderella.
She has performed in SA Ballet Theatre’s seasons including Giselle, La Traviata, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Rock – a – Tutu, Coppelia, Hamlet, The Nutcracker, Triple Bill, Don Quixote (Mercedes), Swan Lake (Pas de Trois, Russian and Big Swan) , The Sleeping Beauty (Lilac Fairy, Enchanted Garden Fairy and Sapphire Jewel) and Romeo & Juliet.
She also performed in Gregory Maqoma’s Neon Flight at the 2007 Arts Alive Festival in Soweto, Alexandra and Newtown and performed on the main programme of the National Arts Festival with SABT”s Don Quixote in 2008. In 2009, she made her debut as the Fairy Godmother in Veronica Paeper’s Cinderella-the Ballet at the Joburg Theatre and performed the role of the Winter and corps de ballet Fairies with The Cape Town City Ballet during their season of Cinderella at the Artscape Theatre.
In June 2009, she appeared in several roles in Coppélia at the Promusica Theatre making her debut as Dawn. Also in 2009 was the season of FNB’s Giselle where Sanmarie made her debut as Myrthe. She appeared in Janice Honeyman’s pantomime Pinocchio followed by Swan Lake in March 2010 when she made her debut as Odile.
Sanmarie was promoted to soloist in July 2010. In August 2010 she made her debut in the title role of Veronica Paeper’s ballet ‘Carmen’ and also performed the principal lady in the ‘Esmeralda’ pas de quatre while on tour to Knysna an George.

Chase Bosch

Chase began his training in 1989 with Noreen Nelson. In 1998 he joined Vanessa Eborall's School of Ballet and was also coached by Dorothy De Witt.
In 2004 Chase was accepted onto The South African Ballet Theatre's Graduate Programme, performing the roles of the Peasant Pas de Deux in Giselle, the Neapolitan Dance in Swan Lake, Jester in Cinderella and the Rat King in The Nutcracker.
In 2004, Chase appeared as a guest artist with the Johannesburg Youth Ballet, the North West Youth Ballet and the Buffalo City Youth Ballet appearing in the title roles of JYB’s La Sylphide and Coppelia in East London and The Prince in the North West Youth Ballet’s Cinderella.
In 2005 he was accepted into SABT as a member of the corps de ballet and promoted to Senior Corps de Ballet in 2006.
His roles with the SABT have included the Russian Dance and Spanish Dance in The Nutcracker, Puss in Boots in The Sleeping Beauty, Spanish dance and Pas de Trois in Swan Lake (2007) Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet Sancho Panza in Don Quixote, the Jester and Ugly Sister in Cinderella-the Ballet and Franz in Coppélia.
Chase appeared in the broadcast of Swan Lake on SABC 2 on December 30th 2007.
In 2008, Chase qualified as a registered sports massage therapist and in 2009, Chase made his debut as Hilarion in Giselle at the Joburg Theatre. He appeared in Janie Honeyman’s Pinocchio in December 2009 and was promoted to Soloist in May 2010.
In August 2010, Mr Bosch choreographed the Spanish dance sections of Veronica Paeper’s ‘Carmen-the Ballet’ to critical acclaim – he also appeared in several roles including soldier, Smuggler and Fiesta Man.

Emma Corbett

Emma completed her dance training at the Regional Academy of Performing Arts(RAPA) in 2008 and was on full scholarship in 2007 and 2008. Emma received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Danceto attend a summer school in Melbourne in 2007. The award was granted by Lynne Wallis.
As a final year student, Emma competed in the Alaina Hanes Ballet competition in Auckland, New Zealand and the McDonald’s Performing Arts Challenge in Sydney, Australia.
She was then offered a guesting engagement in New Zealand performing the role of Sugar Plum Fairy and the Snow Queen in The Nutcrackerfor the East Auckland Performing Arts. She spent 2009 and 2010 as a member of the corps de ballet with the Melbourne Ballet where she appeared in a number of the company’s well-known works.
In 2010 was a guest for award winning choreographer Tim Podesta for his premiere of Visceral in Australia and on tour to New Zealand.
A highlight of Emma’s careerwas appearing in a principal role in Choreotopographyby Kim Vincs, which integrated motion capture and 3D technologies. This production was collaboration between the Melbourne Ballet Company and Deakin University.
In May 2011, Emma joined The South African Ballet Theatre as a Soloist and she ahs appeared in Shannon Glover’s Amakhono-khono, Veronica Paeper’sRomeo & Juliet and The Nutcracker at the Joburg Theatre as well as The South African State Theatre.

Jonathan Gustavo Lopes Rodrigues

Jonathan was born in 1991 in Brazil and traiend in the Royal Academy of Dance method as well as with Rosana Maria Presente. He is also a trained modern dancer under Rubén Terranova.
Jonathan particpated in classes at the Dança e Cidadania Project at Social Bertoni Center – Jardim Nova Europa, Campinas in São Paulo and in 2006 participated in a Workshop with Arnie Zane Dance Company which incliuded classes with the American choreographer Bill T. Jones and Janet Wong – Director of Rehearsal / Assistant of choreographer at Studio 3 Academy, in São Paulo, Brazil.
His repetoire includes roles in Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, La Fille Mal Gardeé, and Giselle and The Nutcracker. He was a regular perofrmer at the Municipal Theatre of Paulinia in São Paulo.
In 2008, he was palced third in the 19 Festidance competition in São Paulo performing Basilio’s variation from Don Quixote. The following year he participated in the Night of Award of The 6th Festival of Dance in Mogi-Mirim, also in Brazil, in the Invited Group category.
In 2010 he appeared in Carmina Burana at the Municipal Theatre of Americana Lulu Benencase (São Paulo) as well as in Cisne Negro Cia. De Dança. Jonathan joined The South African Ballet Theatre in April 2011 as a member of the corps de ballet and was immediately cast as Benvolio in Romeo & Juliet at the Joburg Theatre.
