Cedric Ntumba

Cedric is a private equity Deal Executive at Capitalworks Investment Partners, an independent alternative asset management firm in South Africa that provides investment access and specialist solutions to its clients, locally and abroad, across a wide range of industries and investment themes in Sub-Saharan Africa. Capitalworkswas recently recognised by the international DealMakers publication as the South African Alternative Asset Management Firm of the Year in 2011.
Amongst other initiatives, he is a member of TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design)’s Johannesburg Chapter and, by invitation only, the African Leadership Network and Africa 2.0. He is a member of the University of Oxford Business Alumni Network and an Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellow, a leadership Fellowship developed and managed by the African Leadership Institute, awarded in 2011 the “African Social Initiative of the Decade” at the Africa 2.0 Forum of African leaders for its work in leadership development, and the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School (SBS), UK (Green Templeton College). These Fellows are expected to rise to top leadership positions in their sphere of activity over the next 5-20 years.
For 5 years, he was a Non-Executive Director of the Railway Safety Regulator, a department of Transport agency, where he was a member of its audit committee and chaired its finance and procurement committee. He recently chaired the Audit Committee of the Energy Sector Education and Training Authority and was a member of the Audit Committee of the Gauteng Provincial Treasury. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and Touche and formed part of both its financial services and graduate recruitment teams.
His passion for and involvement in different aspects of the continued development of the African continent, predominantly through investing in businesses on the continent and leadership capacity development has resulted in Cedric being invited to share his perspective at the G-20 Summit in France and the Wharton Business School in the US, amongst other platforms.
He relaxes by reading, listening to music, socialising, gardening and developing his photographic skills. He is married and father to a wonderful little girl. He has strong passion for the development of young African leaders and is involved in numerous initiatives aimed at advancing their progress. In 2011, he successfully chaired panel discussions on the vision of African Youth at the annual Brand African Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He was educated in the DRC, Belgium, the United Kingdom and South Africa. He holds qualifications in Finance and Accountancy from the Universities of Johannesburg and Oxford (SBS).

James Campbell

James Campbell is currently Chief Executive Officer and President of Rockwell Diamonds Inc. Prior to this he was Vice President - New Business for Lucara Diamond Corp, following Lucara’s acquisition of African Diamonds plc, where he was Managing Director for four years.
Preceding this, James was with De Beers for over twenty years, culminating in being General Manager responsible for advanced exploration and resource delivery in the Global Mining and Exploration group. During his career with De Beers he also led a number of diamond exploration and evaluation programmes and small-scale mine development as well as being involved in corporate and strategic management and being Nicky Oppenheimer's Personal Assistant.
James holds a degree in Mining & Exploration Geology from the Royal School of Mines (Imperial College, London University) and an MBA with distinction from Durham University. James is a Fellow of the Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Materials, Chartered Engineer (UK), Chartered Scientist (UK), a Professional Natural Scientist (RSA) and a member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa. He is also a director of Bugeco sa, Swala Resources plc and Stellar Diamonds plc.
As part of James’ social commitment to South Africa he serves as vice chairman of the South African Ballet Theatre (‘SABT’), chairman of the South African Ballet Theatre Trust (‘SABTT’) and acting chairman of Common Purpose SA. He is also a licensed Lay Minister in the Anglican Church of South Africa and an accomplished Ballroom and Latin American dancer. James lives in Irene with his wife, who is a ballet and ballroom dancing teacher, and two university going daughters.

Iain MacDonald

Born in Johannesburg, Iain joined PACT Ballet in 1991 as a corps de ballet member directly after matriculating from the Johannesburg Art School. He danced the company for almost ten years during which time he was rapidly promoted to Principal roles and became well-known for his princely bearing and clean technique on stage
He has guested internationally in Copenhagen and toured Taiwan with the ballet "A Midsummer Nights Dream" as "Oberon". Iain has also been the winner of numerous awards such as the S.A. Adeline Geneè Silver Trophy, The Nederburg award and the FNB Vita Award for Ballet and has appeared in several music videos for Nataniël.
Following the closure of the State Theatre Iain choreographed, produced and directed 'The Nutcracker' together Karen Beukes and Angela Malan and which was performed at the SA State Theatre in December 2000.
Iain is one of the six founder members of The South African Ballet Theatre (SABT) and a Principal Dancer with the company.
He runs the popular 'Ballet for Adults' classes in the evenings and has choreographed various works for the annual Valentine / Autumn Enchantment and Arts Alive seasons.
Iain's roles for SABT have included Albrecht in 'Giselle', Don José in 'Carmen', Siegfried in 'Swan Lake', and the Snow Prince and the Fiancé / Prince in 'The Nutcracker', Dr Coppelius in 'Coppélia', the Winter pas de deux in Sean Bovim's 'I Will Say Goodbye Tomorrow' (for the Royal Danish Ballet 2002 collaboration), Esther Nasser's 'Pieces of You', Romeo and Tybalt in 'Romeo and Juliet', Poet in 'Les Sylphides' and Espada in 'Don Quixote'.
In February 2004 Iain underwent a hip-replacement operation and has successfully returned to full-time dancing. Whilst recovering from his surgery he took the roles of Von Rothbart in 'Swan Lake', Drosselmeyer in 'The Nutcracker' and Shaggy, the Wolf in 'Rock-a-Tutu'. He was also one of the six choreographers chosen by director Ian von Memerty to choreograph for the production.
In September 2006, Iain accepted the position of Director: Fundraising, Marketing & Development at SABT and in January 2009, he took over the reigns from his wife Karen and is currently Artistic Director.

Mbali Dlamini

Ms Dlamini was born in Johannesburg and is the oldest of three children. She attended Craighall Primary School as well as St Stithians College for girls. She matriculated at Glenvista High School and then enrolled at Wits University to study for an LLB which she completed in 2006.
Ms Dlamini has completed her articles and is currently a candidate attorney. Ms Dlamini was appointed to The South African Ballet Theatre’s Board in September 2010.

Sikkie Kajee

Sikkie is a Director at KPMG Services (Pty) Ltd specialising in corporate governance, risk management and internal auditing. He also serves as Chairperson on the Boards of Business and Arts South Africa and Manage Financial Services and is a council member at the State Theatre.

Susie Mabie

Susie Mabie has been active in the creative and arts industries for a long time. She has worked with non governmental organisations, government departments and the corporate sector in the arts.
Susie is a Senior Manager at Transnet Foundation - where she oversees the company's social investment in the arts.

Kethabile Moya

Mrs Moya matriculated at in 1990 at Tswelelopele High School and then enrolled at the University of Durban- Westville where she reviewed her Bachelor of Juris in 1994. She then studied at the University of Natal receiving her LLB in 1996. She has also gained qualifications from the Association of Law Societies of South Africa (Practical Legal Training- 1997); University of Pretoria (Project Management - 2003); Marcus Evans (Project Management - 2003); Corporate Lawyers Association of South Africa (Contract negotiating, drafting and vetting- 2004); Institute of Directors (Corporate Governance and Board Effectiveness - 2005).
In 1996 she was employed by the Legal Aid Board (Office of Public Defender) as a Candidate Attorney and then joined the Gauteng Department of Housing in 1998 as a legal officer. In 1999, she was as admitted to the bar as an Attorney.
In 2000, she was appointed Acting Assistant Director for the Gauteng Department of Local Government followed by her appointment as Head: Legal Services Department providing legal advice to the MEC of Local Government. Ms Moya also worked for Armaments Corporation of SA (ARMSCOR) as a Legal Advisor/ Assistant Company Secretary and in 2005 she joined the Railway Safety Regulator as General Manager: Legal Services and Board Secretariat.
Ms Moya joined the Board of SABT in May 2010.

Penny Ndlela

Siphesihle Penny Ndlela joined The South African Ballet Theatre’s Board in September 2010. She is also a Board member for St Matthews Convent in Soweto and Uti SA and a Trustee for the St David’s Foundation.
She currently manages the global portfolio for the Lifestyle and Leisure division for HolGoun Investments Holdings promoting music, fashion and lifestyle brands to markets in Turkey, India and Europe.
In 2001, she was a finalist and came second in the Business Women of the Year Award.
Ms Ndlela has several qualifications including a BA Communications (UNISA), Hotel Management (ND), and MAP (Wits Transnet Initiative) Nexus Programme (GIBS). She has two children Mduduzi and Lesiba and enjoys art, art house movies; fashion; ballet; theatre; jazz and classical music, fine cuisine; road running; anthropology and yoga.

Grant Rogerson

Mr Rogerson is the Altron Group's Executive: Corporate Relations. He joined The SABT in April 2009. He and his wife Beverley have been passionate about classical ballet for the past 38 years.

Antoinette van Staden (Arad)

Antoinette is a qualified Royal Academy of Dance teacher and choreographer and is also the Director of the North West Youth Ballet.
She is currently in private practice having completed her Masters in psychology and education with distinction in 2004 as well as a doctorate in psychology and education from the University of Johannesburg in 2006.
Antoinette received the International Association of Dance Medicine (IADMS) 2006 research award sponsored by the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries (New York) for her thesis which was presented in West Palm Beach Florida and at the Performing Arts Medicine Association in 2007, Aspen Colorado.
She further completed a MSc in Dance Science with distinction from the University of Wolverhampton (UK), is the South African liaison for IADMS, an author of peer reviewed articles and is currently involved in various local and international dance research projects.
She practices visual arts in her free time and is married with three children. Antoinette joined the SABT Board in October 2011.
