Hunt Bosch

 

Hunt Bosch started his dance training in 1996 with Noreen Nelson. Other teachers include Vanessa Eborall, Dorothy De Wit and June Melville. He passed his Grade 10 exams at The National School of the Arts where he majored in Ballet, Spanish Dance, Contemporary and African Dance. At the NSA, he received numerous certificates including a Gold Certificate for Dance Celebration & Choreography and a Gold Certificate for Stage Craft & Dance (2005) and a Gold Certificate for his participation in the Festival of Fame (2006).

Hunt has participated in various eisteddfods in Johannesburg winning trophies for Most Promising Male Dancer in 2004 and 2005 as well as several others.

Hunt is also a regular performer in the NSA's annual Dance Spectrum and has choreographed a contemporary work for his Grade 10 examination titled Élan Vital (Lifeforce).

Hunt has danced with the Johannesburg Youth Ballet for three seasons as well as for private studio performances and The SABT's Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet seasons.

He has also achieved distinctions for his RAD examinations achieving Intermediate level and joined the SABT's Graduate Programme in April 2007.

He has appeared in the seasons of Ballet Highlights, Romeo & Juliet, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Cinderella-the Ballet, Coppélia and FNB's Giselle with the Company.

 

 


Carlos SilvaSantos

 
Carlos trained at the Dança e Cidadania Project in Sao Paulo for ten years in the Royal Academy of Dance method. He also studied modern dance for six years. His principal teachers were Rosana Presente and Ruben Terranova.

In 2006 he participated in a series of workshops presented by the Arnie Zane / Bill T. Jones Company in Sao Paulo – Brazil. In 2010 he was placed third in the 7th Festival of Dance at Academy Studio 3.
 
His repertoire includes numerous roles with the Theatre of Vl. Padre Anchieta and the Ballet Harmonia Academy in ballets such as Carmina Burana, The Nutcracker, the Black Swan pas de deux from Swan Lake, A Fantastica Fabrica de Natal, Carmina Burana, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, the Blue Bird pas de deux and variation in The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Peter and the Wolf and Carnival of the Animals.
 
Carlos joined The South African Ballet Theatre in April 2011 as a member of the corps de ballet and was immediately cast Romeo & Juliet at the Joburg Theatre.
 

Alexander Todd

At age twelve, Alexander started training in ballroom, tap and classical ballet. He became the Australian Ballroom Standard Champion in 2008 and then shifted his focus to Ballet and Contemporary dance.

In 2008 He auditioned successfully for a full-time position at Regional Academy of Performing Arts (RAPA) where he received a scholarship to undertake further training. While studying Alex has had exposure to dancers, choreographers and teachers from around the world including Simon Hoy, Harlin Martin and Darren Webster.

After graduation, Alexander worked with the Australian Opera Ballet, The Dis/assemble Dance Company and PROJECTion Dance Company. He toured throughout Australia and New Zealand including the Awakenings Festival and Tempo Dance Festival.

He has also been involved in a number of film and television campaigns working with award winning film makers Helen Newman and Emily Owens in the national television broadcast of ‘6’ choreographed by Tim Podesta.

In 2010, Alexander was selected to participate in ‘The Science of Dance’ for science week. This research uses high-speed video and ultrasound to show the dynamic functions of muscles and joints in performing dance specific techniques.

Alexandra joined The South African Ballet Theatre in May 2011 as a member of the corps de ballet.
